The SAFERhome Standards Society (ShSS) has just announced that Englewood Courtyard will be having its grand opening of its show suites on March 5th. On this date, it is pleased to provide Englewood Development with a contribution of $24,000 for the successful completion of the ShSS research study. Englewood Courtyard is the flagship development of the ShSS, and serves as a benchmark to other developers across British Columbia looking to implement SAFERhomes Certification.

All 156 units at Englewood Courtyard are proud to have the SAFERhome designation, which includes wider doorways, higher electrical outlets, lower light switches and several other changes that make an incredible difference to active retirees. According to the ShSS, the current minimum building standards do not meet the current needs of consumers and communities. For example, by 2034, 23% of the population of BC will be over the age of 65.

Gordon Porter, the Executive Director of the ShSS joins Englewood Executive Director Mark Perry at noon on March 5th for this special occasion.

According to Perry, being a part of ShSS has already added significant value to the development. Combined with the excellent location and beautiful interior design of the units, Englewood has become the sought after gated retirement community in the Fraser Valley.
