Englewood the Owl

On January 22nd, we had a surprise visitor come to Englewood Courtyard. Unfortunately, the male Barred owl came in a little too hard and got himself a headache. The Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society in Delta was contacted immediately with request of their assistance. Andrea and Joanne, volunteers from this organization, came out right away and took to carefully getting the owl ready to go. Birds of prey patients at O.W.L. are cared for by staff, veterinarian trained volunteers, and veterinary care donated by Huff Animal Hospital, Richmond Animal Hospital, and Tsawwassen Animal Hospital. With the attentive care from those who work with countless injured and orphaned birds, we have no doubt that our bird of prey friend will be nursed back to health in no time. The staff at O.W.L. has led us to understand that when our visitor is back to good health, that he will be released from Englewood Courtyard, as our visitor and friend, Englewood the owl. We look forward to being able to update our readers with Englewood the owl’s health and when the future release date will be.
